Lucy Kane is a photographic artist whose practice revolves primarily around the female body and the notion of the self. She recently graduated from Arts University Bournemouth with a BA (Hons) in Photography.

While constructing non-figurative self- portraits, Lucy tests the possibilities of the photographic apparatus. Performing as photographer and subject she takes complete control over the representation of her body and questions the fundamental premises of the medium. Viewing the photograph in relation to the surface of the skin and treating the Polaroid emulsion as a direct referent to her own body, she is exploring the physicality of the photograph whilst also exploring the self.
